Quote of the day:
“Get yourself grounded and you can navigate even the stormiest roads in peace.”
~Steve Goodier
My friend owns a preschool in upstate New York. She loves what she does. You should see her with those kids! Definitely doing her dharma.
Every year she has an end-of-the-year school picnic. She was telling me that this year,12 families who volunteered to bring food didn’t show up. I could tell she was hurt.
“Well, it was sorta rainy-ish that day,” I soothed.
“No, people are lazy,” she shot back at me, definitely hurt underneath the anger.
I laughed and tried to explain to her that it ain’t personal. And that they’re not lazy””they’re just scrapin’ by. They’re not centered. And operating from a disconnected place ain’t good. It’s a place where feelings of overwhelm-ment (my made-up word), jealousy, envy, fear, and scarcity live. And that ain’t a fun place to reside.
If you feel any of these things, and/or you find it hard to “show up” 100% of the time with all of your heart, no worries. Just get on your mat and begin again.
Begin to ground yourself with your breath””and your center, your focus and your intention will reappear. You will remember who you are. You will feel the earth energy coming up through your feet and connecting you not only with the earth, but also with every other human being here. How cool is that? All from a yoga practice.
And the next time, you’ll show up with bells on. With extra treats to share.
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!
