You’d expect to find strawberries, raspberries, maybe even cranberries in a ruby red smoothie. But beets? Yes! This root veggie is an excellent source of folate, fiber, iron and vitamin C (the vitamin that helps your body absorb iron). Still not sold? To cut the bitterness of beets, cook and puree them with sweet flavors and creamy textures — like the ones in this mouthwatering, body-nourishing smoothie.
