Spring is officially here, even if you’re still looking at snow the ground. For many of us, this season is a chance to renew after a long winter. You may be thinking of changing up your diet to prepare for summer vacation plans or spring cleaning your home to declutter and clear out the dust bunnies.
Why not do some spring cleaning that can boost your well-being, too? Begin to clear out old beliefs you have about yourself that no longer serve you. Think about giving yourself a break and tuning it to what you really need to feel good about yourself. Instead of working non-stop every day of the week think of ways to treat yourself really well.
Mentally, clean your mind and heart by clearing out negative thoughts and behaviors. Sit down and think about what thought patterns leave you feeling drained or stuck in a rut. Record the thoughts that make you feel the most stuck. Next to each of those thoughts, write a positive thought to break the negative thought pattern.
Take a look at your relationships and determine those having a toxic effect on your life and take steps to move away from those negative influences. Spend more time with those who are supportive of you and give you positive energy.
When it comes to nutrition, most people associate nutrition with the food that they eat. Nutrition also means what nourishes your mind, body, and soul. This type of nutrition can be in the form of relationships, career, spirituality, physical well-being, home and social life.
Here are some simple ways you can boost your well-being:
- Dab lavender oil on your wrists. It’s soothing and may have calming effects.
- Enjoy a cup of tea with your most positive and outgoing friend to boost mood and positive energy.
- Light a candle and meditate for three minutes by slowing down and observing your thoughts. Allow negative thoughts to move out and focus on letting clarity and positive energy in.
