Yam-Avocado Coconut Smoothie

Yams in a smoothie may seem unconventional, but consider the results. When you bake a yam, it becomes a soft, naturally sweet side dish. Top it off with cinnamon and coconut, and now you have dessert. That’s essentially how this smooth, rich drink comes together. The only difference is added protein and fiber from vegan-friendly, whole-food mix-ins. Whether you blend it up in the morning or sip as an evening nightcap, you’ll be satiated for hours.

Yam-Avocado Smoothie Recipe

Yam-Avocado Coconut Smoothie


2 tsp. chia seeds
1 scoop pumpkin seed protein powder
1-2 tsp. cinnamon
1-2 Tbsp. shredded coconut, unsweetened
1-2 tsp. lemon rinds (can be frozen ahead of time)
3/4 cup cashew milk, unsweetened vanilla
1/4 cup baked yam or sweet potato
1/4 avocado
Cayenne, to taste (optional)
Crushed ice

Directions: In a blender, combine all ingredients until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
