Made with only five good-for-you ingredients, this sauce is free of things you’d rather do without, like unhealthy sweeteners, artificial flavors and other hard-to-pronounce ingredients. In the end, you can enjoy your chocolate-covered indulgence without any guilt.

5-Ingredient Chocolate Mint Sauce

Makes 1-½ cups
Macros: 170 calories | 11 g fat | 22 g carbs | 3 g dietary fiber | 2 g protein

Ingredients

2/3 cup cacao powder
½ cup maple syrup
¼ cup extra-virgin coconut oil
1/8 tsp. mint extract or mint oil
½ cup fresh mint leaves

Directions

  1. In a high-speed blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth.
  2. Adjust measurements as necessary. Add more cacao powder for more chocolate flavor. Add more maple syrup for a sweeter sauce.
  3. Serve as a dip with strawberries and other fruits. Can also be used as a topping for ice cream, brownies and cupcakes.

Variations

  • Add ¾ cup raspberries for a raspberry-chocolate sauce.
  • Add ¾ cup pitted cherries for a cherry-chocolate sauce.
