Every once in a while, mommy needs a little “me” time. But with our busy schedules there isn’t always time for a peaceful morning hike or a refreshing stroll through the park. So what’s an overstressed, overworked, burnt-out mom to do?

Take charge and make yourself a priority. Whether you get up at the crack of dawn to savor your morning cup of organic coffee while watching the sunrise, or put the baby down for a nap and rejuvenate your mind and body with a bottle of Tazo Organic Iced Green Tea, or sip a hot cup of Traditional Medicinals Nighty Night Tea after the little ones are down for the night, you need take a moment all to yourself. It’s important to your mental, physical, and emotional health. Not to mention how much your family benefits from you running on all cylinders rather than running out of gas.
When I need a bit of meditative peace, so to speak, I carve out ten minutes of quiet time all to myself. I hear your laments all about not having any time, and how the kids need you constantly, and the cat threw up again and the laundry has been in the washer since yesterday and how you have to re-wash it. I hear you and, trust me, I live it every day right there with you Bombshells!
Keep some coloring books and markers (yes, markers, they have a much more fantastical allure than crayons) near buy, or a secret stash of stickers which only come out when you know you’re about to lose it, or send them to look for bugs in the back yard. Because we’ve all been there. But it’s better to know it’s coming and be armed with quiet activities for the kids so you can regroup, refocus, and refresh. You’ll be a better mommy for it.
Now I’m going to follow my own advice and treat myself to some Organic Coffee Co French Roast with a dash of Pacific Naturals Vanilla Almond Milk and a packet (or three) of Pyure Organic Stevia.
