Among a sea of “all the same,” you aim to stand out. You don’t want to be just another face in the crowd, and understandably so. Believe it or not, these chocolate protein bites share your sentiment. There are a million variations of date-based dessert balls, but this recipe offers one unique twist: superfoods! You’ll smother each bite-sized ball with either white chia seeds, rich cocoa powder, large coconut flakes or naturally delicious coconut sugar. With so many different flavors and textures, each one will catch your eye.
Ingredients
15 dates, pitted
2 scoops Designer Whey Chocolate 100% Whey Protein
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup smooth almond butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 Tbsp. almond milk
Directions
- In a food processor, add all ingredients and blend until combined. Dough should be crumbly but sticky enough to hold together. Note: if dough is too dry, add 1 teaspoon almond milk until dough is easier to manage.
- Using a small ice cream scoop or spoon and your hands, scoop out about 1 inch of dough and roll into balls.
- Roll balls into superfood toppers – try a mix of all of them! Place in fridge to chill, keeping for up to 1 week.
Add these superfood toppings for an extraordinary bite:
