The taste-bud-pleasing possibilities are endless – especially when the aforementioned granola is tossed in a delectable caramel apple sauce. Bonus? This vegan caramel sauce is homemade and free of refined sugar. With sweetness coming from maple syrup and Medjool dates, this slow-baked apple caramel granola recipe can’t be beat!

Caramel Apple Granola

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In small blender jar, combine all ingredients except oats. Blend until smooth to create apple “caramel” sauce.
  3. In large bowl, combine sauce with oats and mix until evenly incorporated.
  4. On prepared baking sheet, spread out oats in single layer. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes and breaking up any big chunks that form.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
  6. Serve as a topping to coconut yogurt, as a cereal with dairy-free milk or on its own as a snack.
  7. Will keep fresh for up to one week.
