Thanksgiving without cranberry sauce? That just won’t do! You don’t want to miss out on that sweet, fruity flavor alongside your turkey or vegan nut loaf. Instead of grabbing a can from the pantry, make something fresh, healthy and irresistibly sweet. Even if you’re whipping up a large feast, you can have this sauce done in about 10 minutes. Plus, this dish won’t have you worrying about wrecking your diet, allowing you to indulge more freely in the holiday pie you’ve been craving all year long.
Ingredients
1/4 cup Nutiva Chia Seeds
1/3 cup maple syrup or honey
2 cups cranberries
1 cup water
Fresh rosemary
Directions
- In a medium pot, combine chia seeds, maple syrup, cranberries and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent the seeds from burning. The sauce is done when the mixture is thick and has reduced almost by half.
- Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool before serving.
- Top with fresh rosemary.
