When it’s time to party, you head straight to the bar. It feels good to have a drink in your hand while mingling. But sometimes even one drink leads to nausea and a very regrettable morning headache. Rather than risk a hangover, turn to this salty-and-sweet virgin margarita. Citrus, coconut and sweet agave will leave you feeling lively and refreshed instead of slow and groggy.
1 cup coconut water
3 Tbsp. agave syrup
1/3 cup freshly squeezed juice of an orange
3 Tbsp. freshly squeezed juice of a lemon
1/4 cup freshly squeezed juice of a lime
2 lime wedges for glasses
2 Tbsp. coarse salt, for glass rims
- In a medium bowl, combine organic orange, lemon and lime juice. Add coconut water. Stir in agave and add more, if desired.
- Fill shaker with ice, pour in margarita. Shake drink with ice to chill and combine.
- Spread coarse salt onto a flat plate. Take lime wedge and squeeze around glass rims. Dip glass rim onto salted plate.
- Pour margarita into glasses.
