5-Ingredient Chocolate Dessert Hummus

It’s no wonder hummus is a popular foodie go-to for snacks and lunches. Whether you go with the convenience of pre-made or prefer to whip up batches in your own kitchen, the chickpea spread is versatile, good for you and completely delicious. And, with a few sweet additions, like cacao and maple syrup, you can make it a staple for dessert as well. This recipe for chocolate dessert hummus will top off your meal – just serve it as a dip for fresh fruit, cookies and crackers or add a dollop to coconut yogurt.

Ingredients

1-1/2 cup cooked chickpeas
1/3 cup cacao powder
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 Tbsp. coconut oil
1 Tbsp. water

Directions

  1. In a food processor, puree chickpeas until smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and pulse to combine.
  3. Serve with fresh fruit.
