I love yard sales. I love reusing and recycling and getting out in the community and seeing new neighborhoods and, of course, talking to people.
Yesterday after snagging some amazing kitchen chairs that I’m gonna paint pink, purple, green and periwinkle, I got a bit lost driving home.
As I was driving down a street I’d never been down before, I spotted an amazingly gorgeous red couch on the sidewalk.
“Look at that couch!” I exclaimed to my kids. “Are they giving that away?”
My kids laughed and said, “Mom, there’s no room in the car!”
They were right.
So an hour later, on date night, I told my husband Philippe that we needed to take the green car so we could fit in the couch. “What couch?” he asked, slightly annoyed.
“I found the most amazing couch just sitting on the street!” I explained. “We gotta go get it.”
Off we went. But I had no idea where it was. I hadn’t noted the name of the street that I’d never been down before. We were flyin’ 100 percent on intuition.
Within a few minutes we were there looking at the couch. And as we gazed at it, two women came out of the house it was in front of and asked, “Can we help you put it in your car?”
“Yes! Thank you!” I replied. “Why are you giving it away? It’s so beautiful!”
“We just bought a sleeper. We were hoping some nice people would come take it.”
As we were putting it in the car, two others walked up and asked if we needed help. I said, “No, thank you, but here’s a free yoga class pass.”
I gave all of the “universal helpers” a free class pass. The woman who gave us the couch said, “No way! This is crazy! I was just saying I wanted to try yoga. Thank you so much!”
“It’s not crazy,” I explained. “It’s the Universe. I’m your divine intervention. See you on your mat, and then many more divine interventions will come your way.”
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!
