If you’ve ever tried your hand at homemade hummus, you already know that tahini is one of the main ingredients. A paste made from ground sesame seeds, tahini is rich in calcium and iron, low in sodium and cholesterol, and a single tablespoon supplies three grams of protein. Silky-smooth like peanut butter but with a milder flavor, it pairs perfectly with cinnamon for a curiously delicious dip. Try it with sliced fruit, dried dates, millet toast or, my personal favorite, sweet potato fries.
