Slow Cooker Oatmeal with Cherries and Coconut

You may not be a morning person. You might be a perpetual snoozer. The sounding of your alarm might be more of a suggestion than a command. “You should get up, but you don’t have to. What’s five more minutes?” Your kitchen usually doesn’t see extravagant breakfasts like omelets, quiche or from-scratch pancakes. That’s why you need this slow cooker recipe. It comes together in one hour, so you can snooze to your heart’s content while it cooks and dig in once you’re ready to get up!

Yields 5 cups

Ingredients

2-1/2 cups Vitacost Rolled Oats
3-1/2 cups filtered water
1 cinnamon stick
1/4 cup dried cherries
1/4 cup organic coconut flakes
2 Tbsp. organic maple syrup
1/4  tsp. pink salt

Directions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Stir to evenly distribute.
  2. Cook on high for 1 hour.
  3. Serve warm.
