“Superfood” is a tasty-sounding word that gets tossed around a lot, but what is a superfood? While there’s no official definition, think of a superfood as a food derived from nature that is packed with nutrients known to have health benefits. Wild Alaskan salmon definitely qualifies.

It’s bursting with omega-fatty acids (good fats), including omega-3s, 6s and 9s. Salmon is also a natural source of vitamin D3 and the antioxidant astaxanthin (a powerful carotenoid that gives wild salmon its rich pink hue). Plus when you insist on salmon that’s wild-caught from Alaska, you can rest assured that it’s been sustainably caught and never overfished – because that’s the law in Alaska.

Wild Alaskan salmon is also delicious. While farmed (not wild) salmon can be greasy and smell fishy, wild Alaskan salmon tends to be firm with a delicate, nuanced flavor. So fire up the grill and try it out with New Chapter’s Fermented Turmeric Booster Powder!

Another superfood, turmeric is known to contain hundreds of phytonutrients, including curcumin. This recipe helps you add turmeric’s heart, brain and inflammation support to salmon’s multiple benefits, which include eye, mood, heart and joint support.†
