Besides simply slicing and snacking on this favorite winter fruit, you can enjoy pears baked into a cake, blended into a butter or even creatively layered on pizza. Or, if you’re looking for an extra impressive dessert, tie on your apron and tackle this new recipe. These chai poached pears are elegantly (and easily!) poached in everyone’s favorite spiced tea. Top with a homemade coconut whip, and you’ll want to serve this after-dinner sensation all the way to spring!
Chai Poached Pears with Homemade Whipped Cream

Ingredients
Poached Pears
- 3 bosc pears firm
- 2 bag chai
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 orange peel
Instructions

In a medium pot, bring enough water to cover pears to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce heat to simmer. Add orange peel, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks and tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes.

Peel bosc pears and core from the bottom.

Add pears to pot. Cook 20 minutes or until pears are tender but not overcooked.

Remove pears and set aside on plate to cool.

In medium bowl, combine whipped cream ingredients.

Using a stand or hand mixer, whisk until peaks start to form, about 3-5 minutes.

Serve pears warm topped with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
