Gluten-Free Hazelnut Brownies

Go against the grain with these chewy, gooey gluten-free brownies. Made from hazelnut meal instead of wheat or white flour, this dessert is a perfect treat whether you’re avoiding gluten, trying to follow a paleo lifestyle or are just craving something chocolatey.

  1. Line an 8 x 12 pan with parchment paper and preheat oven to 325F.

  2. Melt baking chocolate bar on a double broiler, then combine with coconut oil. Set aside.

  3. Beat eggs, then mix with salt and coconut sugar, then stir in coconut oil/melted chocolate.

  4. Stir in the extracts and the chocolate chips, then add in hazelnut flour.

  5. Crush hazelnuts by hand or with a chopper. Mix in ½ cup of the nuts into the brownie batter.

  6. Pour batter into the baking pan and sprinkle the crushed walnuts on top.

  7. Bake for 50-55 minutes, then move to cooling rack.

  8. After brownies are cool, cut into 2 x 2 squares and enjoy!
