Customs & Restrictions

Items sold at Vitacost.com are intended for personal use. Please confirm with your local customs office that the items you intend to order are allowed for import and whether any additional licenses or permits are required. While we do our best to prevent products from shipping to countries where specific products or ingredients are prohibited, regulations change constantly and we cannot guarantee that our restriction information is always up to date. For specific information on item restrictions, import regulations, and taxes, duties or other customs fees, please visit your country’s customs authority website.

Ingredient Restrictions:

The following substances are not allowed to be imported into Taiwan: Poppy seeds, products containing hemp, consumable pet products

Please note that placing multiple orders within a short period of time may result in customs clearance and order release delays.

Duties & Taxes:

Based on current customs regulations, duties and taxes will not be imposed for shipments to Taiwan if there are fewer than 6 orders within a half-year period, each valued under NTD 2,000 ($65.00 USD). Half-year periods begin Jan 1st and end July 1st. Orders placed after the 6th order in a half-year period will be imposed duties and taxes regardless of the order value.

Vitacost.com cannot be held responsible for any laws or regulations that result in Customs applying additional costs to your order, including taxes, duties or other customs fees, or any related product seizure or delivery delays. Any order containing restricted items that is seized, damaged or destroyed by customs due to import regulations may not be eligible for refund under our Customs Seizure policy. Vitacost.com also reserves the right to limit quantity or restrict items to any country for any reason without notice.

ID Requirements:

Due to Taiwan Customs Administration policies, order recipients are required to verify their real name using the RNA (Real Name Authentication) process for customs clearance. Please use the official EZWAY App provided by the Customs Department for RNA verification. If your shipment requires additional documentation, the EZWAY App will notify you and provide further instructions. Failure to provide required documentation may result in customs clearance delay or rejection.

When you place an order, all recipient information (such as Name in Chinese, Personal Identification Number and mobile phone number) must match the information entered for the Real Name Authentication registration in the EZWAY App. This includes any spaces or special characters.

Effective November 1, 2021, the following documentation may be required by the order recipient for orders shipped to Taiwan, in addition to the RNA (Real Name Authentication) process. All documents will need to be completed by following the process that is requested by the shipping carrier or Taiwan Customs.

If applicable, the selected carrier or customs authority will contact the order recipient directly to request additional documentation and advise what methods are available for document submission. The following option is one method that may be used to submit the required documentation, if requested.

It is the order recipient’s responsibility to submit and complete all documents required by Taiwan Customs, in addition to the RNA (Real Name Authentication) process, to avoid customs clearance delay or rejection. Failure to comply will result in the order being seized or destroyed by customs, and will not be eligible for refund under our Customer Refusal policy.
