     Let’s Do…Organic® Cornstarch is a wonderful thickening and stabilizing agent, perfect for making gravies, sauces, custards and more!

     Let’s Do…Organic® Cornstarch has twice the thickening power of flour, when a recipe calls for flour use half as much cornstarch to thicken your recipe. One tablespoon of cornstarch equals two tablespoons flour.
     

      Note: Cornstarch may clump when mixed directly into hot liquids. To avoid clumping, stir cornstarch into an equal amount of cold water to make a slurry, mix it into the liquid you want to thicken and heat as necessary.

Use as a thickening agent. Stir into liquid.

Gluten-Free Cherry Crisp

The topping is a perfect mix of tender oats, light brown sugar and a pinch of salt, creating that dreamy contrast of crisp and soft in every bite. It’s comfort food made wholesome — and trust us, it needs a big scoop of vanilla ice (or “nice”) cream on top. Gluten Free Cherry Crisp

Topping

  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup gluten-free old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 6 Tbsp. vegan butter (melted)

Filling

  • 2 lbs. frozen dark sweet cherries
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, oats and salt. Add melted butter and mix gently until it forms a clumpy texture.
  3. In separate large bowl, toss together cherries, sugar, cornstarch and almond extract. Transfer cherry mixture to 9- or 10-inch pie plate or 9x9-inch baking dish. Top with flour mixture, leaving some smaller and larger clumps.
  4. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, until topping is golden and crisp and filling is bubbling. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
