This convenient gluten-free blend makes an excellent substitute for wheat flour in cookies, quick bread, cake, pie crust and more. For best results, substitute 3/4 cup Vitacost® Gluten-Free Multi-Blend Flour for 1 cup all-purpose wheat flour.


Gluten Free Belgian Waffles


1 3/4 cups Vitacost™ Gluten-Free Multi-Blend Flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, separated
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup salted butter, melted


In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, bakin powder and salt. Whisk in egg yolks and milk, mixing until smooth. Add the melted butter and mix until just combined.

In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
Cook according to your waffle iron instructions. 


Keep dry and at room temperature (59°-86°F [15°-30°C]).

Carrot Herbed Meatballs

This outstanding beef meatball recipe rolls together organic grass-fed beef, finely grated carrots, jasmine rice and a blend of flavorful seasonings including turmeric and cayenne pepper. Beef Meatballs With Carrot & Rice in Pottery Bowl

Carrot Herbed Meatballs

  • 1 lb. organic grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 lb. organic carrots (peeled and grated)
  • 6 oz. cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 large free-range egg (whisked)
  • 2 Tbsp. gluten-free flour
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. avocado oil
  1. Place grated carrots in clean cloth or cheesecloth and squeeze out excess moisture. Set aside.
  2. In bowl, combine carrot, beef, rice, egg, flour and spices using your hands to knead mixture until mixed well.
  3. With wet hands, portion mixture into roughly 2-inch meatballs.
  4. In large skillet, heat avocado oil over medium-high heat. When oil is heated well, add meatballs (in batches if necessary) and brown on all sides, about 6 - 8 minutes.
  5. Serve as desired.
