White Tea

Did you know that all tea (or rather, all beverages that are allowed to be simply called "tea") comes from the same plant, Camellia sinensis? Each type of tea is differentiated by the process used to make it.

White tea is typically made with minimal intervention -- that is, the leaves are delicately dried or picked earlier, before they're allowed to completely dry in the sun. As a result, white tea has a lighter flavor than other tea varieties, though it still has the same beneficial plant compounds known as polyphenols, a type of antioxidant.

You can find white tea in bagged and loose-leaf products, as well as tea blends and prepared tea beverages.
