    Chickpea Hemp Burgers

    You've had a long, busy day  and you’re ready to enjoy a warm, savory dinner and relax for the rest of the evening. That’s a fantasy, of course—after all, who has time to relax? Between doing the laundry, helping the kiddos with homework and prepping for the next day, there’s hardly even time to make dinner. But thanks to this 10-minute veggie burger recipe, you can have a nutrient-packed, kid-friendly meal ready in a jiffy! Serve these patties on gluten-free bread rolls, in a lettuce wrap or over a bed of greens--there are plenty of options to please every member of your household. At the end of the night, you might even be able to squeeze in a few quiet minutes for yourself.

    Veggie burgers made with chickpeas and hemp seeds

    Chickpea Hemp Burgers

    Serves 4
    Macros per serving: 181.5 calories | 8.8 g fat | 18.5 g carbs | 4.4 g finer | 5.6 g protein


    ¼ cup TigerNut flour
    2 Tbsp. + 3 Tbsp. Nutiva Hemp Seeds, divided
    1 tsp. flaxseed meal
    14 oz. canned chickpeas, drained
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. onion powder
    1 tsp. Redmond Real Salt
    ½ tsp. cumin powder
    ¼ tsp. cumin seeds
    ¼ tsp. turmeric
    ¼ tsp. fennel
    ¼ tsp. sage
    ¼ tsp. rosemary
    1/8 tsp. oregano
    2 Tbsp. TigerNut oil (or extra virgin coconut oil, for cooking)


    1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except 3 tablespoons of hemp seeds and TigerNut oil. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.
    2. Divide mixture into four patties and cover each patty with the remaining hemp seeds.
    3. In a large pan over medium heat, heat oil.
    4. Fry patties until golden, about 3-½ minutes on each side.
