Frontier Co-Op Organic Senna Leaf Cut and Sifted Description
Natural Products Co-op
Frontier Co-op® Organic Senna Leaf (Cassia angustifolia Vahl) comes from the Cassia species – one of over 250 species that contain the substance anthraquinone. It is mostly cultivated in Egypt and Sudan but it is used around the world, especially in North Africa and Southwest Asia.
Native to tropical Africa, Senna leaf is primarily used to make tea or to enhance other teas. Simply steep 1/2 teaspoon of Senna leaf with 1 cup of boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Its slightly sweet yet strong and bitter undertones go great with green teas, or can be combined with honey to make a special blend.
When you purchase Frontier Co-op Organic Senna Leaves, you’re getting a full pound of it. Since you only need about 1/2 teaspoon at a time, it will last for an incredibly long time.
Our Senna Leaf is certified organic, kosher and non-irradiated. It is sourced directly from India. These leaves are harvested around April and September to preserve maximum potency and purity.
Owned by stores and organizations that buy and sell our products, Frontier Co-op® has been a member-owned cooperative since 1976. We support natural living and our products are never irradiated or treated with ETO. We're committed to the health and welfare of the environment and everyone producing and consuming our botanical products.
