Stove Top:

Rinse rice in water to remove starch (Optional: For extra fluffy rice, let stand in water for 15 minutes.)

Measure 1 ½ cups of water into a saucepan and add 1 tablespoon of butter (optional).

Put on stovetop and add the rice and contents of spice packet and stir. Bring to a boil.

When water is bubbling, cover with lid and reduce heat to simmer. Cook on simmer for 20 minutes.

Fluff rice lightly with fork before serving.
Microwave:

Rinse rice in water to remove starch (Optional: For extra fluffy rice, let stand in water for 15 minutes.)

In round 2-quart microwaveable glass casserole, combine rice, contents of spice packet, 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of butter (optional).

Cover; microwave at High 21-24 minutes or until most of water is absorbed.

Let stand, uncovered, about 5 minutes or until all water is absorbed.

Fluff rice lightly with fork before serving.
