Did You Know?
The saliva from ticks and fleas can cause allergies in dogs. During flea and tick season, dogs may have more pronounced allergic reactions. In contrast, mite-induced allergies may lead to symptoms that persist all year round.
• Only 5 percent of the total flea population on your pet consists of adult fleas, while the remaining 95 percent includes eggs (50 percent), larvae (35 percent), and pupae (10 percent). For every adult flea visible, there are 19 others hiding in your home's carpet, bedding, and furniture.
• Ticks feed on your dog for several days before dropping off after being satiated.
• Mosquitoes are annoying and can pose a number of risks, including skin infections, and allergic reactions.
Prevent Fleas and Ticks:
Spray directly on the dog before going outside. Also apply to bedding or areas frequented by dogs. Spray 12 inches above the surface and avoid soaking as a mist is sufficient. Test fabrics before use.
