Safe Catch’s inspired beginnings were brought to life by our founder’s care for his Mom, when she developed mercury poisoning from eating a daily regimen of tuna. Mercury Tested

We hand select and test every, single, tuna, to a mercury limit (10x) lower than the FDA action limit. No other brand in the world does this. That is why Safe Catch Elite and Ahi, Wild Yellowfin are proven to meet Consumer Reports “Low Mercury” criteria set for pregnant and nursing women and young children. These products are also the only tuna endorsed by the American Pregnancy Association. At Safe Catch, we test because we care.

 

Artisan cook process

Chefs know, slow cooking premium ingredients leads to amazing taste and texture. That is why we hand fillet and pack nothing but sashimi grade tuna steaks, never fillers or artificial additives. In contrast, Industrial Tuna is cooked first on racks, refrozen, thawed, machine packed, where fillers are added, then cooked a second time, which may be an effective mass production process but definitively not an artisanal one. Our handcrafting of premium fish into noticeably elite tuna steaks makes Safe Catch a healthy and deliciously differentiated tuna.

 

Nothing added, nothing drained

Carefully crafted pure ingredients make for amazing seafood that stands apart. With Safe Catch Elite tuna there is nothing to pour down the drain. Simply open the can and use a fork to flake the tuna steak, then watch the natural omega-3s and vital oils be absorbed by the tuna. Spicy Sea Bass Ceviche

There’s nothing quite as refreshing as ceviche, the citrusy South American fish dish with lip-smacking spice and super fresh ingredients. If you’re wondering how to make ceviche, the key ingredient is sushi-grade fish. In this case, sea bass is thinly sliced and coated in a spicy citrus marinade with fresh serrano pepper and garlic. Add radishes for crunch, avocado for richness and orange sections to balance out the spice. This dish will transform your meal into a divine sensory experience!

Spicy Sea Bass Ceviche

  • 1 lb. fresh sea bass (sliced thin)
  • 1 grapefruit (zest and juice)
  • 1 orange (zest and juice)
  • 1/2 red bell pepper (minced)
  • 1 serrano chili (sliced thin)
  • 1 garlic clove (sliced thin)
  • 3 radishes (sliced thin)
  • 1/2 avocado (sliced thin)
  • 1 orange (1/4-inch slices)
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • Pinch sea salt

Optional: Cilantro

  1. In large bowl, mix together citrus zest, citrus juices, chili, bell pepper and garlic.
  2. Add thinly sliced fish to mixture. Combine gently with hands.
  3. Marinate fish 2 minutes.
  4. On plate, evenly arrange fish, radishes, avocado and oranges and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle on sea salt and optional cilantro leaves.
  5. Serve immediately.
