Celery seeds can be used whole or ground, depending on your preference. Ground seeds do impart more flavor and some people have trouble digesting seeds, preferring to grind them before use. You can buy seeds and grind what you need for a recipe (if you desire), ensuring freshness and flavor. As a rule of thumb, you can use celery seeds anywhere you would use celery. Often the stringy texture of celery is undesirable, so celery seed would be a better ingredient, for example in a soup base. Celery seeds are also popular in brine for making pickles, as well as cold salads, such as coleslaw or potato salad.

Keto-Friendly Cool & Crunchy Coleslaw
- 1/3 cup Primal Kitchen Mayo
- 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. monk fruit sweetener (or other natural sweetener)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- 4 cups bagged coleslaw mix
- In small bowl, combine all ingredients for dressing and mix thoroughly.
- In large bowl, combine coleslaw mix and mayo mixture and toss to coat. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
