Quick & Customizable Chocolate Cereal Bites
Have you been gobbling up bliss balls like they’re going out of style? Good, because there’s a new tiny bite about to break through. Oats and dates have had more than their 15 minutes of fame. It’s time a new kind of cereal gets its heyday. In this no-bake recipe, crispy, large-flake cereal steps up to the stage. With such a satisfying crunch and the option to choose your favorite toppings, these bites will catwalk right into your mouth.
1-1/2 cups crunchy flake cereal
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup peanut butter (or almond butter)
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
- Prepare a muffin pan with paper liners and set aside.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, add chocolate chips, peanut butter, sugar and salt and heat 2-3 minutes, or until chocolate begins to melt.
- Add cereal to saucepan and stir to combine and coat cereal with chocolate.
- Add vanilla and cinnamon. Stir to incorporate.
- Using a spoon, add dollops of chocolate-cereal mixture to paper muffin liners.
- Sprinkle desired toppings over top each dollop. Experiment with different toppings.
- Refrigerate cereal bites for 30 minutes, or until firm.
