Non-Alcoholic Summer Sangria
Can a sweet party drink really fit into a healthy diet? Embrace the concept of balance, and it most certainly can! It also doesn’t hurt to make your own elixir and spread these good libations all around. If you’re up for it, omit the alcohol to cut down on sugar and calories. Next, choose fruits that are low in sugar, such as berries. It’s also a good idea to skip the sugar-bomb known as tonic water and swap it for seltzer. Finally, enjoy your summer sipper with a meal that provides ample fat and protein. This will help keep the glycemic load in check. Cheers to that!

Ingredients
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup boysenberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup blackberries
50 oz. unsweetened cranberry juice
2 L. sparkling/seltzer water
4 oz. orange juice
1 Tbsp. orange zest
Crushed ice

Directions
- In a large glass pitcher, combine all ingredients except ice and orange zest. Stir to mix thoroughly.
- Place in refrigerator overnight.
- Serve over ice with orange zest sprinkled on top.
