Reset for 2021 with whole-body wellness essentials
It's time to think about your goals and 2021 resolution ideas. Even if you don’t set resolutions, the start of the year is a great time to instill new habits (or maintain positive habits from the previous year!) that’ll lead to a more fulfilling day-to-day life. Whether you’re reestablishing your healthy lifestyle or beginning a new path towards one, this year, give your health a fresh start by focusing on whole-body wellness.
It’s the year of you. In preparation of the new year, make a plan and focus on the things that are most important to you. While you may be centered on unleashing your athletic strengths, supporting your mental health goals or boosting your immune health, it’s important to consider your entire body (and mind) in the overall picture.
Immune health has been a hot topic this year. While there’s no one food or supplement that can totally prevent illness, certain immune health supplements are worth it and can help support proper function of your immune system, helping your body fend off unwanted pathogens. Additionally, it’s important to follow a healthy lifestyle, such as eating a well-balanced diet, exercising regularly (yes, exercise affects immune health) getting adequate sleep and reducing overall stress levels.
Speaking of stress... we stress about everything (and there’s been a lot to stress over this year), but stress wreaks havoc on the body, affecting digestion, blood pressure, sleep, our ability to focus and more. Similar to improving your immune health, a few lifestyle changes can minimize stress. A well-balanced diet (superfoods for stress, anyone?), getting adequate sleep and exercising are all great ways to reduce stress. To further lower your tension levels, certain remedies and supplements (such as magnesium, B-12 and more) can also help fight stress.
2020 presented plenty of valuable and unique opportunities for learning and growth, and the most notable takeaway might be how important our health is. Though no one knows what will happen in 2021, one thing we do know is that mental, physical and immune health will be crucial to getting the most out of the year.
