Sweet and Spicy Grilled Asian Ribs

These fiery-yet-sweet Asian style ribs are the perfect reason to fire up the grill. This sticky and satisfying dish gets its flavor from the simple homemade sauce, which can double as a marinade if you've got extra time to spare (just set aside half the mixture for coating and cooking). Enjoy the harmonious blend of sweet hoisin, nutty sesame and spicy sriracha -- together, they'll help you take regular ribs to the next level.

Oh, and... the irresistible combination of crisp skin and tender, fall-off-the-bone meat? It comes from the cooking method: bake first, then grill. One bite and you'll realize it's worth the wait.

Sweet and Spicy Asian Ribs

  • 3 lbs. baby back ribs (1 rack)
  • 1 tsp. salt


  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. sriracha
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 2 Tbsp. green onions, (chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  1. Preheat oven to 300 F.

  2. Season ribs with salt and wrap tightly in foil.

  3. Place on baking sheet and bake for 90 minutes.

  4. In small bowl, mix all sauce ingredients together.

  5. Coat ribs in half of the sauce mixture, and place back in oven for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove ribs from oven and from foil. Place on indirect heat on hot grill. Flip and cook until crispy on each side (about 3-4 minutes per side).

  7. Coat with remaining sauce before serving.
